Hello again, it has been a while since I last posted on here!
Being the crochet addict that I am I have always wanted to join in with the Innocent smoothie’s Big Knit for Age UK. However I had always found myself too busy when it came round. But finally this year I have found the time and I have been crocheting away and loving it!
If you go on the big knits website – http://www.thebigknit.co.uk/about you’ll find all the information about it there. All the knitted and crochet hats that are made and sent into innocent smoothie are put on the tops of bottles and then these are sold in shops. 25p is donated for every bottle sold with a woolly hat.
I thought I would post the woolly hats that I have made on here and hope to inspire you all to pick up your crochet hooks and knitting needles and start making hats to send in.
If you go on the innocent smoothie big knit website they have quite a few knitting patterns on there but this year they don’t seem to have any crochet ones. So I typed ‘the big knit crochet patterns’ into google and found a few that way. But then I realised that egg cosies would also work for these hats and started searching for patterns, I even picked up some knitting needles and knitted a few! Learning new stitches along the way!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – I made this pattern up myself.
The deadline for the hats to be sent in is the 12th December. I have set myself a goal of 100 hats and am currently just over 40. So hopefully I will easily reach my goal and be sending them in soon!

Oh my goodness, you’ve done amazing – those are fantastic, well done! The shark and the tortoise, so cute. It’s great that you’re doing it and especially trying to reach 100, unfortunately wool freaks me out so I can’t knit/crochet, but I do love buying the smoothies with the wee hats. It would be great if you got into their hall of fame! (And do they not hold auctions for the more unusual ones too?)

Aw thank you so much! The tortoise is my favourite too!! The shark went a little wrong but makes me laugh how astonished he looks haha. It’s such a shame wool freaks you out, I couldn’t imagine a life without crochet! I hope I can reach 100. Thank you that would be amazing, but I doubt I will. Oh do they? I’ve never heard about that, I shall have to get making more unusual ones just incase!

I’m sure they did one year! (Maybe I’m just making it up but honestly I’m sure they did…) I hope you get in to the hall of fame at least. Can’t wait to see the rest!

Haha I believe you. Aw thank you. I shall post them all on here once I get to 100. I haven’t had anytime this week to do any though! So need to catch up!
